2. Software Engineer

Overview:

Be part of the team that is developing leading implementations of embedded software based on the company's wireless platform. This person will work on projects to enable top tier application-specific device manufacturers to build secure, easy-to-use, and reliable wireless devices. You will be a part of a group of engineers based in the Hsinchu and will be involved in working with customers as well as development partners around the world.

Responsibilities:

• Design, document, develop, and debug embedded software components according to customer requirements by building upon core platform technologies.
• Interact with customer engineers during co-development projects.
• Possibly host or fly to customer sites for design meetings or tactical engineering discussions.

Skills:

• Extensive experience in embedded software development.
• Good understanding of embedded operating systems (WinCE, Linux).
• Good understanding of hardware/software issues in embedded and real-time systems.
• A good knowledge of hardware architectures, in particular ARM, PPC, X86, and MIPS is also desired.
• Strong debugging, problem analysis and solving skills.
• Strong C programming.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Good customer relationship and business skills.
• Ability to gain quick rapport with customers and their technical teams.

Required Experience:

• 3+ years of development experience.
• 1+ years of embedded software or embedded real time development.
• Strong experience in development and testing of embedded real time systems.
• BSCS/BSEE or equivalent.

Additional Desired Experience:

• Wireless experience a major plus.
• MSCS/MSEE a plus.

3. Field Application Engineering:

Job description and responsibility:

responsible for technical support to ensure successful integration of WiFi module into our customers' mobile/handheld/application specific products. The role establishes the person as the technical expert for specific products and the relevant domain. Must have high technical competence and be able to provide in-depth technical responses to customers during the pre-sales process. Once engaged with a customer, must be able to map out the technical details of a system integration plan - from project start through mass production. Will also be involved in qualifying and working with third party partners. Will work closely with internal RD and chipset design house development engineering.

Education:

• BSEE required, MSEE preferred

Required experience:

• more than 1 year of experience of board level RF circuit design of ASIC design, preferably for embedded products
• Must be comfortable with both software & hardware
• Specific knowledge of 802.11 is highly preferred
• Must have good communication skills and an investigative spirit.
• Ability to be reactive to customer needs coupled with superior problem solving and debug capabilities

Other:

• Atheros FAE experience preferred.
