Overview
EVK-301E is a universal V2X starter kit for Unex V2X product line including System-on-Module (SOM), On-Board Unit (OBU) and Roadside Unit (RSU). It’s an ideal V2X platform for evaluation, development and demonstration of V2X applications including vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I). This kit provides multiple connectivity options such as CAN, GPIO, Ethernet, USB and GNSS capabilities. It also includes an extension conversion board for direct connections with various I/O devices. With preloaded ITS-G5 stack and V2Xcast® software, EVK-301E offers a rapid way to develop your V2X applications and use-cases either standalone or being incorporated into your existing application host, allowing seamless migration to your final design.

Software
Featuring with V2Xcast® , Unex’s innovative software technology, EVK-301E allows two modes of operation:
Unex EVK-301E enables ease of V2X software development through its V2Xcast® technology. Previously, V2X protocol software had to be built and verified complicated APIs, resulting in a duplicated effort, risk and cost. With Unex V2Xcast solution that provides ready-to-use V2X communication services for V2X applications, users can significantly cut time-to-market with less development and testing cost.
V2Xcast is supported in EVK-301E to facilitate V2X application development through its modular framework. It includes two parts – V2Xcast Service and V2Xcast SDK.
V2Xcast SDK
Deploy V2Xcast SDK in either EVK-301E or external application host, it includes APIs to get the services from V2Xcast Service and the main functions of facility layer (ITS-MSG), such as message encoder/decoder and example code.
V2Xcast Service
V2Xcast Service image resides in EVK-301E, it combines ETSI ITS-G5 protocol stack that includes GeoNetwork, BTP, DCC, Security, and POTI. V2X communication protocols will be easily enabled via configuration input without any programming.
